The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is offering a funding opportunity aimed at enhancing the skills of workers in the Energy Efficiency and Clean Technology (EE&CT) labor market. This initiative supports the objectives of the Clean Energy Fund and the climate equity and just transition goals of New York's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act). Approximately $3 million of the total funding is reserved for training activities that support building electrification. Eligible applicants include technical high schools, community colleges, universities, trade associations, manufacturers, and other entities with a demonstrated track record in energy-related training and job preparedness. The program is divided into two categories: Training for Existing Workers and Individuals in Formal Training Programs, and Career Pathways for New Workers/New Entrants in Clean Energy. Preference will be given to projects led by certified Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and Service-Disabled and Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOBs). This solicitation employs a two-step application process, starting with a Concept Paper followed by a Full Proposal upon invitation. All training must take place in New York State and serve its residents.
